What is Arrow?

Arrow is a global community building open source aircraft, working toward a future of affordable, automated VTOL transport.

Arrow community gathered at a meetup

Arrow is a global community designing and building open source aircraft. We believe VTOL aircraft (vehicles that take off and land vertically, without runways) could do for physical travel what the internet did for communication: collapse distance and make fast, affordable movement something most people can actually access.

Roads constrain you to where roads go. VTOL aircraft don't. In a world with an open, automated VTOL network, people can live anywhere and still stay connected to the people and places they love. That's the long-term goal. We're building toward it one aircraft at a time, in the open.

What We Build

Arrow starts small and scales deliberately. Our first completed aircraft, Project Quiver, is a 25kg open source quadcopter available now as a developer kit. Project Spearhead is our next platform, a fixed-wing VTOL pushing toward higher speeds and longer range.

How Arrow Works

Arrow has no offices, no management hierarchy, and no closed doors. It's structured as a Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO). Contributors coordinate online. All designs are public by default.

Open source: Every design file, line of code, and document is public. Fork it, audit it, build on it. Nothing lives behind a paywall or NDA.

DAO-governed: Token holders vote on direction, treasury spend, and major decisions. No CEO. No board. Learn more in Governance.

Globally distributed: Engineers, designers, and manufacturers from around the world. Day-to-day work happens on Discord, GitHub, and the DAO Forum.

Open manufacturing: Arrow doesn't own factories. Designs are open for anyone to build. A community network of manufacturers brings hardware to market globally. More on that here.

Work is organized through bounties and grants, community proposals, and self-directed contributions. If you see something worth doing, you do it. The full picture is in How We Work.

Get Involved

You don't need to apply or get hired. Come introduce yourself on Discord and find where you fit. There are roles for engineers, designers, writers, manufacturers, and governance contributors alike.
