DAO Voting

Arrow's on-chain voting history — treasury, project funding, and governance decisions.

Arrow runs all decisions through Snapshot. Token holders vote with $ARROW (including vested tokens), everything is public, and results are permanent. Quorum is 2,000,000 ARROW. Each proposal has a 1-day delay, then runs for 7 days.

Proposals fall into two categories:

  • AIPs — formal changes to Arrow's rules and procedures. See the AIP Index for that record.
  • Operational proposals — treasury management, project funding, GBC disbursements, governance decisions

Why everything gets a vote​

Arrow votes on routine decisions, not just rule changes. Swapping rETH to cover operating costs, funding the GBC for two months, launching a new project: all of it goes to a public vote before anything moves.

Arrow's treasury is on-chain. Contributors are distributed globally. The vote is how the community authorizes spending and keeps the record straight. Anyone holding $ARROW can participate.

Arrow has been voting since September 2022. Over 70 operational proposals have come to a vote. Nearly all passed. A handful failed quorum on first attempt and were resubmitted successfully.

Types of proposals​

Treasury — swapping rETH for USDC to fund operations, staking ETH for yield, or larger diversification moves. Arrow has historically held rETH as a primary treasury asset and converted it to stablecoins as needed for contributor payments.

Project funding — authorizing DAO projects under the framework in AIP-006. Each project gets a named leader, a monthly budget cap, and a defined term. The vote creates the project and releases initial funding. Arrow's active and recent projects include Quiver (hardware), Spearhead (flight software), Caribou, and Visibility.

GBC funding rounds — regular disbursements from the DAO treasury to the Grants and Bounties Committee multisig. The GBC distributes these to contributors based on approved grants and bounties. GBC funding has run continuously since October 2024.

Pod funding — before the formal Projects Framework, Arrow organized contributors into pods (Services, Growth & Operations, Aircraft Engineering). Pod funding proposals served the same purpose as today's project and GBC votes.

Governance — structural decisions outside the AIP format: ratifying the Constitution, committee elections, retroactive token allocations, entity decisions, and one-off operational choices.
